Siren Craft Brew – Soundwave

siren-soundwave

A 5.6% west coast IPA: golden, immensely hoppy and alive with grapefruit, peach and mango flavours.

Soundwave carries her drinker to the west coast, to the golden shores of California where craft ale is nectar. She is the driest of Siren’s ales – full with flavour but subtle with bitterness.

Her resinous finish will pull you off balance.

Harper Arms Rating (5=Tribute, 1=Carling): (4.5 / 5)

  1. Siren Craft has an outstanding reputation for producing the very best craft beers. Now I know why! This combines a powerful citrus flavour with robust hops – wonderful.

It is very similar to Wild Weather’s Sun Bathe in the Shade (sorry Mr Mojito) but at 5.6% much stronger.

It would get 5 from me except it only comes in 330ml bottles. What’s all that about? Beer is meant to be drunk in quantity, preferably pints. Why no larger bottles, growlers or mini kegs?

  2. Siren brewery is right… this beer serenades your schnoz as your lift the pint glass then glides tippy toes ballet style across your tongue before lifting its skirt to show some leg to your taste buds. It’s bloomin’ lovely.
It’s very very similar to ‘Sunbathe in the Shade’, this beer has a citrus aroma instead of peaches and is another rung (or two) up the alcoholic ladder but those are the only discernible differences to my untrained palette. Peaches or citrus, weak or strong either way its’ win win in my book.

  3. Sadly, I missed the original tasting but I managed to catch up with this gem of a beer a couple of weeks later. This really is a stunning beer that stands out from the crowd. I suspect that in draft this would rival Tribute!
