Morland’s Greene King’s “Old Golden Hen” captures a celestial ray of sunshine in the form of a rare and very special Tasmanian hop called Galaxy
A light gold hoppy bitter with loads of peach and grapefruit on the nose, and a broad, fruity taste, finished off with gentle bitterness..
Harper Arms Rating (5=Tribute, 1=Carling): (3.3 / 5)
Despite the Morland branding this is brewed by Greene King in their factory.
Seems a bit if a stretch to class this as a ‘Craft beer‘
‘Factory’ is a bit harsh. Greene King’s Westgate Brewery opened in 1799 and can trace it’s history back to 1086 where ‘ale brewers’ in Bury St Edmunds are listed in the Doomsday book.
Just because it’s old, it doesn’t make it a small batch beer brewed in a traditional way
My home brew meets that definition and I wouldn’t call that ‘craft beer’!
WTF? Who gives a shit about whether this is a craft beer. Next you’ll be buying an anorak and joining CAMRA!
This is a lovely golden ale. Was pleasant at the first sip and was still pleasant when the barrel ran out.
Would be excellent on a Summer’s Day.
Er… I am in CAMRA and there is nothing wrong with my zip-up waterproof
