Doom Bar splits the beer drinking community, it has no hops in it and so some connoisseurs dismiss it out of hand. I say who gives a crap, I watched a movie the other day and no-one died in it and I still enjoyed it. Doom Bar tastes great, pint after pint, end of.

Hailing from a tiny coastal village in North Cornwall and found almost nowhere else, I used to enjoy drinking a pint of Doom Bar, in the Doom Bar, overlooking the Doom Bar! Now, Sharp’s is owned by Molson Coors, the Doom Bar has gone (it’s now just a hotel) and the beer is apparently the UK’s no.1 selling cask beer.

It’s a very smooth pint, in the vein of a country best, and almost unparalleled as a sup on a summers evening.
