Harpers Brewing Company – Bottled Selection

Harpers Brewing CompanyA selection of beers from Aldi under the Harper’s Brewing Company brand.

Amber Stone is a traditional English bitter, Wild Billy’s IPA is an American IPA, Medusa is a ruby red ale and Golden Crown is a golden ale.

Brewed by Marston’s in the UK.

Harper Arms Rating (5=Tribute, 1=Carling):

  • Golden Crown     (2.3 / 5)
  • Amber Stone        (2.3 / 5)
  • Wild Billy’s IPA   (2.5 / 5)
  • Medusa                 (2.8 / 5)
  • Overall               (2.5 / 5)

Note that The Regulars are currently in dispute with Aldi over the use of the Harper name. We want to  ensure that the general public do not confuse these beers with our very own Harper Arms Hoppy Punch.

  1. Before anybody whinges about breaking the by-laws by rating a beer without a full evenings drinking, let me remind you all about the special rules that apply during Lent.

In Section 12 “Special rules for Lent”, sub-section 4, paragraph 2

“Beers from a single brewery that are sold as a collection to be drunk together, may be rated in a single evening. Only the overall rating for the collection may be used. Individual beer ratings are for guidance only”

  2. Good(ish) beer and cheap at £1.25 from Aldi. Doesn’t set the world on fire, they tend towards the more traditional British beer rather than anything that could be considered ‘craft’ and are therefore a little bland but if you’re on a budget you can’t go far wrong with these.
